Facts on Education
Embrun features three different primary schools and only one high school. Since the province of Ontario categorizes its education method into French Catholic, French Public, English Public and English Catholic, to which school an Embrun child is sent depends upon which classification he falls under. English Public students are generally served by the Upper Canada District School Board (UCDSB).
Cambridge Public School is their primary school in Embrun, with Russell High School being their secondary educational institution located in Russell. On the other hand, English Catholic students are under the Catholic District School Board of Eastern Ontario. All of these students attend Mother Teresa Elementary School and Saint Thomas Aquinas High School, which are both located in Russell.
French Public students are under the school board of Conseil des écoles publiques de l'Est de l'Ontario. In general, they attend De la Rivière Casto Elementary School situated in Embrun and L’Académie de la Seigneurie High School in Casselman. On the other hand, those under French Catholic are under the school board of Conseil scolaire du district catholique de l'Est ontarien. École élémentaire catholique Embrun is their primary school, while École secondaire catholique Embrun their secondary school. In addition, there is an internet-based, Ontario-government-accredited high school called Ottawa Carleton E-School.
